IN their recall summary, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says, “There is a chance that the O-ring sealing the connection in cars fuel feed line is misaligned.” “The misaligning of the O-ring could result in small fuel leak. And this fuel leakage in the presence of an ignition source could result in.”
In a statement posted on their Web Site Honda said that no injuries or fires have been reported related to this defect and that most of defected models are still not being sold.
It also explained that during the manufacturing of the fuel-line meeting, an O-ring could have got displaced, which allegedly could lead to leakage at a joint, where the two sections of pipe have been went with each other.
On the other document filed with the federal government, Honda stated that an employee at Canada’s Honda Manufacturing originally noticed the flaw because of a fuel smell on a 2012 Honda Civic on 29th April. The company immediately started a production hold on the suspected models on that very day.
